1. Cedar Bar & Kitchen
It’s impossible to Cedar Bar & Kitchen’s bar.com.au/ facade, for it is located in a 110 year-old church. In a heritage setting complete with stained windows and tall ceilings, the kitchen serves local grass fed Dorrigo beef and share plates for groups.
The restaurant’s owner, Paul, is a whisky connoisseur and his bar is stocked with regional and international craft beers, boutique wines and spirits.
The new kid on the block is a Japanese restaurant with a view of the river and mountains in the distance. The homely hideout does sushi, hand rolls, katsu burgers and fluffy croquettes that will transport you to the streets of Japan.

4. The Purple Carrot
This concept store along Hyde Street is best described as “Bellingen’s living room”, with its roomy interior offering lounge and bar seats to while an afternoon away. Its retail section sells upmarket apparel and homeware that make great souvenirs too.
6. Black Bear Cafe
Situated along Church Street, Black Bear Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant that people flock to for its bagels and coffee, among other signatures such as eggs benedict and burgers. It opens at 7.30am on most days – a plus point if you’re fuelling up for a morning program!
7. Little Red Kitchen
Little Red Kitchen may be an italian restaurant, but it’s also experimental with Indian flavors like tandoori and dishes like Mexican-style pizzas. Look no further if you’re searching for live music and good food, with a gelato bar as the cherry on top.
8. Old Butter Factory Cafe
Fancy a hearty breakfast or brunch within a historical landmark? The Old Butter Factory is not only home to boutique stores and galleries, but also a cafe to get some quality coffee, scones and muffins after all that retail therapy and souvenir-shopping.
9. Bellingen Gelato

This bar is possiblythe most happening watering hole in Bellingen, playing host to live music, DJ sessions, drawing classes and an ever-changing art display. The wood-fire pizzas are known to be real crowd-pleasers, and you could wash all that chow down with their homemade beers and ferments.
